Always have Enough.

We had this small prayer group at Beatrice’s house on Sunday night. It had started 3 weeks ago. So far so good, sharing about how God had blessed us throughout the week, and we just believe in prayer. It is not meant to be a well organized prayer meeting, we just need to be there, share, pray and Amen. My sharing for tonight was about “Giving” which had happened in church on the Sunday itself. As usual, I will go for breakfast before I go to church, enjoying myself with my baby ( PCR 4371) on the way to Church.

As usual, I will give offering during offering time. After 1st service, I got myself 1 set of MOB camp’s message ( 4 sessions) by Ps. Frankie Khoo and 1 set of msg about Teamwork ( 4 sessions ) by Mr. Khoo Hin Hiong. Spent some money on that but no regret buying it because someone will be blessed by it. After that, I joined the church’s education ministry called “In Reach”. Today, we were talking about tithe, pledge and offering. Very practical teaching and quite challenging as well, I took it as a reminder for myself to give generously. Proverbs 11:25 “A generous man will prosper, he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.”

Here came 2nd service, somehow something in my heart which said to me, why don’t you give your pledge now since today is the last day of May, usually I will fulfill my pledge during early of each month. Anyway, I did give in the end by just trusting God that what ever I left in my wallet, can at least last me for the rest of the day;) 2nd service’s sermon was powerful and awesome. The speaker had an altar call and blessed Ps. Kenneth and Ps. Sandra with some love offerings from him and from the church itself. The Speaker actually asked us to give to bless the Pastors because they have blessed us so much all this while. I look into my wallet, 2 reds and few pieces of blues. I gave the 2 reds but it was seriously nothing if compare to others…they gave really huge amount man!! But I don’t really feel bad with myself also :P, I gave all the “biggest” I had in my wallet,hehe... After 2nd service, few of us went to mamak makan. I asked Jack whether he got extra money incase I don’t have enough. After getting my food and received a “unpaid receipt”, then only I began to realize throughout the whole day, God was trying to teach me a lesson. It was about Giving. I look into my wallet again and took out all the “left over”. Allelujah~!! I have RM8.40 left, food + a drink are RM6.10, I still got RM2.30, and it is just nice for me to pay for the toll which is RM2, and YESSss, I will still have 30 cents LEFT in my wallet !! But the truth is, I recently just top up my “touch and go” card, so I do not need to use cash for the toll. In the end, I have EXTRA RM2.30 which I actually don’t have the chance to spend it by tonight because I’m heading back to home and just rest!! I’m thankful because I always have enough. Even though I give, I still have enough or may be have extra which I do not have the chance to use it also. Saving is really good, but invest in God’s Kingdom will be an eternal choice that u can make. He is our provider, Amen?

I did't plan at all how to spend my money on tat Sunday. Everything just happened like tat...ya...offering,so ngam the CDs are available, tben pledge, then the love offering...then makan, then I still have Extra,if you say this is just an coincidence,I would say this is His timing to let thing happened at the right time at the right place and teach me a lesson out of it:)

Matt 6:21 Jesus said,” For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also”.

The Attitude of "I Know"…"But"….

What is mean by the attitude of “ I know… But… ”? Recently I face this problem. “ I know” I have work to do “but” I don’t know where to start..“ I know” I won’t do well in my exam if I don’t start to study now “but” I’m so lazy. “I know” I must do my devotional everyday “but” sometimes I’m so lazy. “I know” I shouldn’t watch so much of movies, “but” I always use it as an excuse to kill my free time. Aarrhh…I’m sick of myself because of this stupid attitude. I’m seeking for motivation but where come motivation? For the past 2 weeks, my ym’s status message was “ Have you seen a worried bird before? Matthew 6:26 Look at the birds of the air …” This status message suppose to encourage myself and others not to worry so much but I misused it as an excuse to keep myself away from all my works. Sigh… again… “I know” I was wrong “but” yet I didn’t change my attitude. I’m not worry about anything, but I know I have to change my attitude to be hardworking and always do the necessary things. I need to be more focus. My question for you is Do you have the attitude of “I know”… “but” … ? I think the only solution is we ourselves take the initiative to change, you can pray, ask for help but in the end, it’s still up to you whether to change it or not. “I know” the solution, “but” can I do it…? this is the question to myself.

The Conclusion of the Battle.

Yo!My dearest friends, how’s life been going on!? Sorry for the delay of my mission blog. Anyway, I have no idea what to blog about the mission. It was awesome, too many things to write, there were happy n sad moments. All the mission team members experienced different thing, encountered different problems and other stuffs . As for myself, the hardest thing will be getting my testimony done on time. Oh crap… to be honest , everyone of us suppose to get ready our testimony b4 we leave for mission, but I only got it done the night before I share my testimony which was on the 3rd or 4th night. Thank God that my team’s leader Kamini had mercy on me, never scold me but may be angry within her heart. I’m really really sorry BUT I can’t help it :P OoOopss..~~

Another challenge would be the Bath room. I went to this long house, and I got to bathe behind a zinc without a door while the makcik somewhere outside there nia…oh man, it took me few minutes just to decide to take off all my clothes or with my underwear on while bathing. One thing I had to consider was IF the makcik walk to the back, my “ Share” will drop exponentially!! OMG, how can I loose my “value” to a makcik !?!? hehehe…actually not much value left in me la…sshh…don’t spread around the news k, readers :P …somehow, I just took off everything and enjoy my “door-less” shower !! Oh ya, even though the condition of the toilet was quite bad, but every long houses that I went, I just pang only …I actually enjoyed the toilet kao kao mam. There was one toilet, I can actually see everything outside there. I remembered there was once, someone walking toward the toilet while I was still “doing business”, I quickly make some noise, hehehe…the person heard me and walked away, piuuu~~ nearly loose my “value” again but this time to a guy.

Let’s talk about boat ride. It was fun, cool, challenging but boring when u have to sit for hours to reach another destination. I got to push the boat at certain part of the river but just for a while nia, it ain’t enuff for me to show my strength, eh hem..~( If u feel like vomiting, it’s ok man, tahan until u reach the toilet).

Throughout the mission, I discovered more about myself. Like what I can do and what I can’t do. But what ever I can do, I wish to do it even better and for what I can’t do at that moment, I pray to God that He will help me to develop it and improve it if this is His will. Matthew 13:12 Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. I think I would like to choose to learn more and get busy in learning rather than having nothing in the end. Amen?

This Mission Trip had opened my eyes to see others’ needs in other places. We had different culture, speak the different languages, different way of living. I thank God I was born in Penang. All kind of weird but Nice foods surrounding me. I never feel not enuff in term of food, clothing, money. Long house people do not have what I have. They eat what ever they plant, they wear what ever they have ( some kids are wearing the dirty and smelly clothes). Honestly, they are looking for a better life but yet they are still Praising God even at this situation. To be contented is what I saw in them. City ppl like us, STOP COMPLAINING lor…send you to Sarawak baru you know.

I don’t think I can finish telling you all the things that happened during mission. I would like to share with anyone of you personally if you’re interested to hear more about the mission. Mission is never and will not be easy, but it will help you to grow more in term of faith and trust in God through all the challenges. I won’t thank God ONLY for His presence in us throughout the Sarawak Mission, because He is still with everyone of us even after the mission, now, tomorrow until the day we say : Yo!Dude, wat’s up. to the Above All in the heaven.

Mission I : Training Day

Date : 12-16 April 04

04 mission trip started with 5 days "intensive"( tipu 1...eat n sleep most of the time) training in CCC Malacca. 1st challenge was dividing the group. I was in team A. At first we were told that the team A will not get the chance to experience boat ride, tat was why not many ppl willing to join team A. Some ppl kena throw here n there because Pastor tried to balance up the talents or some couple issues :D After almost 1 hour of "throwing" ppl around, our 2nd advisor Mr. David Bong suddenly told us that both team actually get to experience boat ride.(wa saii ler...this fella ar....tell la earlier, I suddenly feel such a released...AT LAST I can go for my 1st boat ride!!!) Others who were in Team A feel the same as well and we were sooo excited about it ;) At last 2 teams were born!! Team A formed by Kamini,Chern Wai, Niger, Lilian, Mei Sin, John See, Ken, Grace, Janet, Bob and David Bong while Team B formed by the rest of them :P Cheerrrss~Team A !!! We started the next section by learning our 1st Iban song – Segala puji Syukur. To cut it short, during the 5 days training, we practiced 2 skits, learnt Iban worship songs, mime(eagle wings ), dance, praise and worship led by Siew Yee and Kamini, and also preparation for the children ministry. Each of us also get to preach or share our testimony for ONLY 3 minutes during the training. Funny thing was this, I just finished my opening speech, time out liao!! crap…3 minutes can be gone so fast. In conclusion, I too cheong hei (canto). David Bong was our 5 days teacher. He banyak hebat !! Since this mission team have 3 couples, he actually gave a “short course” about 5 languages of love. But then those bujangS also syok sendiri and joined that section ( ya la…I was there also, why?cannot mer, hmmphh~~) What!? You also want to know what is the 5 languages of love izzit?? Say lor…so pai sei for wat…tats y I joined then only I can share with u guys ma. Me good guy right :P ok, listen !!

1st Words of affirmation – You need to hear some sweet words to be assured tat your partner really love you.
2nd Quality Time – You want your partner to spend quality time with you, then you will feel so in love with your partner. Attention pls !! Quality time doesn’t mean just do something you like while ur partner looking n waiting for you to get ur works done.for example: guys watching football (oOoppss…to myself but too late…haihh…) and the girls sitting there tengok footballer but not the game itself and fall into temptation. OR gf go shopping and the bf look at the chun chicks.
3rd Receiving gift – by receiving gift, you will feel so happy and in love with your partner. No matter what your partner give, whether is made by him/herself or buy, you will just love it and treasure it. Doesn’t mean you’re materialistic, but be careful ;)
4th The act of service – You like your partner to serve you. For example, cook for you, massage for you, basically be your slave la. Be slave for your partner in return ok :P
5th physical touch- woahh…this one might be dangerous if you don’t control well. Touching here could be just holding hands, hug hug, or a goodbye kiss. NOT going any further ya ;) But then hug hug and goodbye kiss also not sure can or not la, you check with pastor if u’re in relationship ya :D I got nothing to do with this.

For me, the 2nd challenge would be the toilet. I thought we will only face toilet problem when we’re in Sarawak. Mana tahu b4 we go, we already faced it. Water supply not enuff !! Basically only 1 toilet can be used for bathing. The other one…once a while la when it had enuff water. Imagine so many ppl waiting for 1 toilet. Thank God no one die of shit or pee poisoning. Hehe…Dun laugh !! Really 1…if u dun trust me, try to tahan not to shit or pee, then look into the mirror n tell me what is the color of ur face ;)

As what I had just said in the beginning, this so called “intensive” training end up eating most of the time(hehe…actually not everyone involve in this makan section :P ).anyway, we should had called it Intensive makan training !! Emmm…sounds more right now. Breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner and supper, never miss !! Except fasting 1 lunch on of one of the day. Just found out tat the “Taiwan beef noodle” near the CCC quite nice!! Hope can go back and try again. 5 days passed so fast…was I really ready for the mission?? I couldn’t answer myself either at that moment. We shall see in the following blog … … to be continued … …
